Alan Lee Strong

50 year old, Alan Lee Strong, of DeMotte, passed away November 9, 2009.

On September 14, 1959, Alan was born to Ralph and Linda (nee: Smith) Strong in Portsmouth, Virginia. Alan attended Kankakee Valley Schools and graduated in 1977. He married Trudy Umphryes on February 14, 1987. Alan was an electrician for Hamstra Builders for 30+ years. He was a lifetime area resident who was a member of the John Purdue Club, and was the President of the Wheatfield Bowling League.

Surviving along with his loving wife Trudy are children: Beth & Aaron DeGroff, Sara & Jesse Brill, Matt Strong, Kristofer Whited, and Kiley Whited. Alan had one grandson, Dominick Brill. He is also survived by his parents, Ralph & Linda Strong, and sister Kathy & Bob Hershman.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Alan will take place at the Boersma Funeral Home, on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Joel Gilbert officiating. Interment will take place at the Angelcrest Cemetery of Valparaiso.
