Albert J. Hoffman

93 year old, Albert J. Hoffman passed away February 14, 2018.

On July 7, 1924, in Fair Oaks, Indiana Albert was born to Jacob and Agnes (Terpstra) Hoffman. Albert graduated from Fair Oaks High School. Al was a lifetime area resident, who loved farming. On August 30, 1945, he married the love of his life, Patricia A. Conlin in DeMotte, Indiana. He enjoyed farming and it was always said, “You’ll never find a cleaner soy bean field than Al Hoffman’s.” He like collecting Oliver equipment. He said, to the Indiana Prairie farmer photographer, “If you want my picture, I’m not stopping” (circa: May 20, 1972, Indiana Prairie Farmer). Albert was a member of the Virgie Christian Church where he was baptized at the age of 80.

Albert is survived by his loving family: wife: Pat, children: Bruce (Alice) Hoffman, Mary (Michael) Payne, Jim (Julie) Hoffman, Norma (Harv) Kamminga, Ginny (Steve) Reames, Helen Kroll & Stan Pytel, 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters: Malene Walstra & Shirley Lowe.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents: Jacob & Agnes, sisters: Grace & Elvina, and brother: Wilber.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Al will take place on Sunday, at the funeral home, at 4:30 p.m. with Pastor Derald Ailes officiating. Interment will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Fair Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Virgie Christian Church.
