Barbara S Jones

84-year-old, Barbara S. Jones passed away December 31, 2019 in Valparaiso, Indiana.

On February 6, 1935, Barbara was born to Clarence “Squeak” and Thelma (Summers) Holladay in Rensselaer, Indiana. Barbara graduated from Wheatfield High and worked as a secretary. Barbara worked at the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago until the age of 70. Barbara loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would take the older grandchildren to Chicago to her office and watch the fireworks on the 4th of July and loved to take them to the movies. She also loved watching them play soccer, volleyball, swimming, baseball and basketball during their school years. “BooBoo”, as she was called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will truly be missed.

Barbara was survived by her loving family: daughter: Suellen Banks, and sons: Jac (Mary) Jones and Scott M. Jones, grandchildren: Nicki (Jeff) Paris, Stephanie (Aaron) Webster, Matthew (Liz) Jones, Jessica Jones, Jac (Christina) Eldridge, Cody Jones and Katie Jones, and great-grandchildren: Kailee and Camden Webster, Isabelle and Ella Paris, Luke and Ty Eldridge, and Jac Jones.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Maj. Norman C. Holladay, great-grandson: Jacob Paris, son-in-law: Terry L. Banks and her special Boston Terrier: Jaxson.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield. Services for Barbara will take place at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 with Pastor Ed van Wijk officiating. Interment will follow at the DeMotte Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Humane Society.
