Barbara Ann O'Brien

85 year old, Barbara Ann O’Brien, of DeMotte, passed away February 22, 2022.

On January 26, 1937, in DeMotte, Barbara was born to George and Grace (DeYoung) Schaefer. She was a graduate of DeMotte High School, worked as a clerk at the hardware store, and loved being a housewife.

Barbara is survived by her children: Ron (Jill) Cates, Don Cates, Cathy Ferguson (Gary Lindsey), Mark Cates, Martin ‘Skeeter’ (Theresa) O’Brien, Marie (Nathan) Nuss, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, siblings: Robert (Kate) Schaefer, Pat (Roscoe) Hilton, Tom (Pat) Schaefer.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband: Skeets (Martin O’Brien), son: Robin Cates, and her parents.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at Grace Church, DeMotte, Indiana at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
