Bernice Bennett

79 year old, Bernice Bennett, of Wheatfield, passed away June 9, 2024.

On January 23, 1945, Bernice was born to Henry and Margaret (Schultz) Wozniak in Gary, Indiana. Bernice was a QMA, and worked at Little Company of Mary in San Pierre for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking for her large family. Bernice liked to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the ‘girls’ days at the casino, playing bingo, playing online games with her best friend, reading and watching her favorite TV shows. Bernice made hundreds of prayer shawls and lap blankets for veterans and residents of oak grove before becoming a resident there.

Bernice is survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and brother: Ralph Wozniak.

Bernice was proceeded in death by: her husband: Richard, their 3 daughters: Laura Ann (Bennett) Webber, Deborah Marie (Bennett) Cook, Janina Rose (Bennett) Dowell, grandson: Bradley Edward Webber, and great-granddaughter: Novalee Angel Kathleen Phillips.

Per Bernice’s wishes cremation will take place.
