Betty Berg

93 year old, Betty Jean Berg, of DeMotte, passed away July 18, 2019.

On March 4, 1926, Betty was born to Jacob and Gertrude (VanBolhuis) Miedema in Chicago, Illinois. Betty worked for IBM as a key punch operator, an insurance adjustor, bookkeeper, and loved being a housewife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother.

Betty is survived by her children: Jacquelyn (Dennis) Getz, Barbara Van Vlymen, Douglas (Corrie) Van Vlymen, John ‘Drew’ (Margaret) Van Vlymen; and six grandchildren: Keith Getz, Kevin (Leah) Getz, Kaite (Tim) Van Vlymen-Marshall, Paul (Gretchen) Van Vlymen, Matthew Van Vlymen, and David (Diana) Van Vlymen, and great-grandchildren: Norah Getz, Evelyn Getz, Dillan Marshall, and James Van Vlymen.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years: Robert E. Berg, parents, and an infant brother.

Private graveside services will take place on August 4, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Holland Cemetery, DeMotte, Indiana with Pastor Gary Butler officiating.
