Betty Rae Bowen

79 year old, Betty Rae Brown of DeMotte passed away May 30, 2002 at her home.

On October 21, 1922 Betty was born to John and Goldie (Fleeger) Roth in Elwood City, Pennsylvania. Betty married John S. Bowen on October 25, 1941 in Donara, Pennsylvania. Betty has been a resident of DeMotte since 1961. Betty loved being a housewife and taking care of the children.

Betty is survived by her daughter: Kathy B. Bowen-Smith, grandchildren: Russell (Melissa) Smith, Dawn Smith, Richard (Aimee) Smith, David (Gay) Smith, Susan (Rodney) Hayes, Melissa (Stephen) McMahan, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and sister: Helena Zimmerman.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents: John & Goldie, and brother: John S. Bowen Jr.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, June 3, 2002 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Betty will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave L. Buche officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana.
