Carl R. Harper

78 year old, Carl R. Harper of DeMotte, passed away June 10, 2011 at his home with his loving family around him.

On November 26, 1932 Carl was born to Carl W. and Achsah (nee: Laws) Harper in Mounds, Illinois. Carl served in the U.S. Army. On July 2, 1955, Carl married the love of his life Marilyn Wendell, in Chicago, Illinois. Carl was a carpenter by trade even after his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the Christian Church of DeMotte.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; daughter, Jane McMullan; son, Gregory (Susan) Harper, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by: one brother, Kenneth (Pauline) Harper; 3 sisters, Shirley (Harold) Stringer, Gloria (Rich) Wittl, and Sharon (Jim) Ryan.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Betty & Ray Udvare; daughter, Judy; granddaughters: Jill & Leah.

Per Carl’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
