57 year old, Carolyn F. Whitaker of Monticello, formerly of Wheatfield, passed away August 1, 2020 at her home.

On September 26, 1962, Carolyn F. Whitaker was born to Vollie Jr. and Martha (Stansberry) Whitaker in Valparaiso, Indiana. Carolyn worked in the Home Health Care at Opportunity for Positive Growth. Carolyn liked to camp, but especially loved to take care of people.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Mandy Zarate, Renee (LD) Gorman, Cory Whitaker, Kyle Cheshier, Kodi Cheshier, James Carter, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren plus 2 on the way! She is also survived by her siblings: Pam Whitaker, Donna Durflinger-Whitaker, Cindy (Rick) Byers, Marlin Joseph, Kim (Jim) Hanton, Kathy (Rodney) Howard, Vera Hershman, and Vicky.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: Vollie & Martha, brother: Steve Whitaker, and sister: Lora Cox.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana.

Per Carolyn’s wishes cremation will follow, and interment at the Wheatfield Cemetery will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation.
