Charles F. O'Bringer Sr.

77 year old, Charles F. O’Bringer, Sr., of Hebron, passed away February 10, 2016.

On July 1, 1938, Charles was born to Joseph and Mabel (Brown) O’Bringer in Michigan City, Indiana. Charles married Mary Louise Traske, in Michigan City, Indiana. Charles was a graduate of Michigan City Elston High School class of 1957. He obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He was employed at Joy Mfg, Palitier Mfg, NIPSCO, and Sun Engineering as an engineer.  He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge as a Professor for IVY Tech College. Later in life he was self employed.  He was a member of the NRA, EAA, and the Moose Lodge.  Formerly he was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Michigan City, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hebron, Indiana.

Charles is survived by his wife: Mary Louise O’Bringer, children: Charles F. O’Bringer, Jr., Patricia Anne Smith, Adele ‘Rose’ O’Connor, 7 grandchildren and sister: Mary Ann (Rickey) Pawlicke, Sr.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother James and sister Myrtle.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 687 W 650 S, Hebron, Indiana (219.996.6119). Services for Charles will take place on Monday at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Kyle Kintner officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or St. Anthony’s Hospice, Crown Point, Indiana.
