Clayton R Wireman

79 year old, Clayton R. Wireman, of DeMotte, passed away August 9, 2025.

On February 28, 1946, Clayton was born to Simon Sr. and Georgia (Joseph) Wireman, in Kniman, Indiana. He was a graduate of Wheatfield High School. Clayton retired in 1980 from the United States Army, where he served as a drill sergeant. He married the love of his life, Linda Fitzgerald, on September 27, 1980, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Clayton, after retiring from the Army, spent his days as a mechanic and a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking for his family, spending time with his brothers, and playing horseshoes.

Clayton is survived by his children: Tammy (Miguel) Abal, Sherrie (Roger) Bohannon, Jason (Rashell Niedzwiecki) Wireman, Jeremy (Vickie) Wireman, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Josephine (Farish) Wireman, and Donald (Stella Kasnick) Wireman.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Linda, son: Jeff Wireman, brothers: Simon Jr. Wireman, Roscoe Wireman, Carl Wireman, Charles Wireman, and sisters: Ethel Clary, Lula Whitaker, Ruby McCarty, and Janice Wireman.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, IN 46392. Funeral Services for Clayton Wireman will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the funeral home. Graveside services and military funeral honors for Clayton will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Independence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
