David K. Walker

70 year old, David K. Walker, of Rensselaer, passed away November 9, 2023, at his home with his loving family around him.

On December 1, 1952, in Rensselaer, Indiana, David was born to Richard and Christeena (Stone) Walker. He graduated from Kankakee Valley High School, class of 1972. David worked at Northway Cabinetry, and then became a truck driver. He married the love of his life, Linda Rater, on June 10, 1972, in North Judson, Indiana. David also served as a US Marine, and then the Army-National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and watching Andy Griffith Show.

David is survived by his loving family: wife: Linda, daughters: Misty (Allen) Ivey, Wendy Tarr, six grandchildren, and siblings: John (Pat) Conley Jr., & Kenneth (Crystal) Walker.

David was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Bonnie Allen, Linda Thomas, and brother Jimmy Walker, and infant son: Michael Walker.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Services for David will take place at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. (noon-CST). Military graveside services will follow at Independence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jasper-Pulaski Hunter Education.
