Dawn Riley

64 year old, Dawn M. Riley, of Wheatfield, passed away May 21, 2026.

On January 24, 1962, Dawn was born to Joseph and Catherine (Catenazzo) Schutz, in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from Merrillville High School, class of 1980. Dawn married the love of her life, Thomas Riley, on April 26, 1986, in Merrillville, Indiana, who precedes her. She worked in the cafeterias for the Kankakee Valley School Corporation. Dawn was a member of the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and cooking for her family.

Dawn is survived by her mother: Catherine, son: Tom (Tara) Riley, grandchildren: Caleb, Layla, Mila, and sister: Linda (Jan) Halfman.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father: Joseph, and husband: Thomas.

Per Dawn’s wishes cremation will take place.
