Dewey Scott

92 year old, Dewey R. Scott, of DeMotte, passed away on April 25, 2026, at home with his loving family around him.

On October 6, 1933, Dewey was born to Garnie Scott and Cozye Mae (Neibls) Ellis, in Golden Pond, Kentucky. He married the love of his life, Cynthia Raceina on February 19, 1971, in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Dewey worked at the LaSalle Steel Mill. He enjoyed woodworking, racecars, and World War II history.

Dewey was survived by his loving wife: Cynthia, children: Anthony Scott, Leslie Scott, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Frank Scott, and Carolyn Scott.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, sons: James Scott, Chris Scott, and brother: Johnny Scott.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Boersma Funeral, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield, Indiana. Fruneral Services for Dewey will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the funeral home, with United States Army Chaplain Danny Pecaro officiating. Interment will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery.
