Dick 'Red' Evans

93 year old, Dick ‘Red’ Evans of DeMotte, passed away April 25, 2019.

On January 5, 1926, Dick was born to Howard and Emily (Fisher) Evans in DeMotte, Indiana. He was a lifetime area resident. Dick graduated from DeMotte High School in 1944, and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life, Rosemary Irene Muraida on June 14, 1952 at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, Wheatfield, Indiana. Dick was a farmer, an original member of the DeMotte American Legion Post #440, and a member of the Destroyer 272 Organization USS Dehaven.

Dick is survived by his loving family, wife: Irene, son: Thomas ‘Jr’ (Jodie) Evans, 4 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, son: Randy, and 1 brother.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Mass will take place at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, DeMotte, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019 with Fr. Dennis Faker and Fr. Paul Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at the DeMotte Cemetery.
