Donald E. Black

86 year old, Donald E. Black, of Wheatfield, passed away July 21, 2018.

On July 13, 1932, in Hobart, Indiana, Donald was born to Harold and Minnie (Schultz) Black. Donald married the love of his life: Karen Ann Myers on November 2, 1957, in Wheatfield, Indiana. Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion Post #406. Don worked for the Carpenter’s Union Local #1005 for 40+ years.

Donald is survived by his family: wife: Karen Ann, children: Mike (Gwen) Black, Donna Black, 2 grandchildren: Cody & Maegan, 3 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Ken Black and Jim Black.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and grandson: Casey.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Graveside services at the Wheatfield Cemetery will take place on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, with Bishop Rick Helton officiating.
