Donald J. Longstreth

66 year old, Donald J. ‘Stretch’ Longstreth, of Wheatfield, passed away July 6, 2026.

On January 22, 1960, Stretch was born to William and Marilyn (Sauer) Longstreth, in Rensselaer, Indiana. He worked as a truck driver. Stretch was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Wheatfield Post 406. He at one point worked at the Wheatfield Lanes as a mechanic, and he enjoyed bowling there as well. Stretch loved to fish, and always had a fishing hole somewhere he would not tell anyone about.

Stretch is survived by his son: Ryan (Kathlene) Longstreth, siblings: Susan Joseph, Becky (David) Deardorff, Jack (Barb Claypool) Longstreth, Dave 'Tex' Longstreth, Mary (Len) Finney, Sheryl (Frank Moore) Longstreth, Tom Longstreth, sister-in-law: Christine Longstreth, and many nieces and nephews.

Stretch was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Ed Longstreth and Leon Longstreth.

Per Stretch’s wishes cremation will take place.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield. Stretch will be laid to rest at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Food Pantry.
