Donald Owens

83 year old, Donald Owens, of Wheatfield passed away January 2, 2020.

On June 28, 1936, Don was born to Walter Owens and Elizabeth (Culp) Hartman. Don graduated from Tefft High School, class of 1955, and went on to work for Anderson Company. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Barrier, on April 1, 1957. He attended the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church. He liked to cut firewood, watch stock car races, and especially enjoyed watching the grandkids participate in sports.

Don is survived by: his wife: Phyllis, children: Debbie (Daren) Odle, Charlotte Jones, Roger Owens, Ralph (Krista) Owens, Bonnie (Fred III) Boissy, and Rick (Stacy) Owens, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister: Clara (Bill) Williams, and brother: Charles ‘Buck’ (Janice) Owens.

Don was preceded in death by his parents: grandson: Grant Jones, and great-grandson: Emerson Jones.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Don will take place at the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church, Wheatfield, Indiana at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020, with Pastor Doug Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
