84 year old, Dorothy Dobson, of Rensselaer passed away December 10, 2020 at St. Anthony Hospital with her loving family around her.
On October 1, 1936, Dorothy was born to William and Ida (Shepherd) Shepherd in Vest, Kentucky. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and cooking. She also enjoyed her family. She was a member of the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Carter Dobson, Betty Lamp, Victor (Carol) Dobson, 3 grandchildren: Mitchell Dobson, Sarah (Dobson) Britzke, Makayla Lamp, and 1 great-grandson: Arlo Britzke, siblings: Grace (Vern) Hilton, Shirley (John) Godby, Bruce (Carolyn) Shepherd, and Kitty (Tom) Mahaffey.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Barter Dobson, parents: William and Ida, brothers: Albert Shepherd, Ron Shepherd, sister: Martha Gravesen, brothers-in-law: Wilson ‘Buddy’ Dobson, John Meyers, DeVon Jones, and grandson Joseph A. N. Roorda.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Graveside services for Dorothy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on December 16, 2020, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana with Pastor Thurman Ritchie officiating.
