Dorothy Lewis

78 year old, Dorothy J. Lewis, of Virgie, passed away October 9, 2026, with her loving family around her.

On October 4, 1948, Dorothy was born to Jack and Mary (Gray) Peach, in Ohio County, Kentucky. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, East Chicago. She married the love of her life, Ballard Lewis on December 19, 1964, in East Chicago. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her ‘kids’. They especially remember her Mac n Cheese.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family, husband: Ballard, children: Kasandra (David) Jones, Theresa Smith, Robert (Julie) Lewis, Richard (Gina) Lewis, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Cathy Lewis, and brother: Chester Peach.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at the Victory Baptist Church of Roselawn. Services for Dorothy will take place on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Chris Nabors officiating.

Interment will take place at the Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Hartford, Kentucky.
