73 year old, Douglas Lee Stonebraker, of Wanatah, passed away August 11, 2026.

On January 21, 1953, Doug was born James and Peg (Spenner) Stonebraker, in LaPorte, Indiana. He graduated from Kankakee Valley High School. Doug was the owner of the Lone Pine Liquor Store in Wanatah, Indiana. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a major Chicago sports fan who always had a game on from one of his teams. Doug loved military history, and he took great pride in being able to collect the medals that his father had earned during World War II.

Doug is survived by his sons: Derek Stonebraker, Joseph (Kendra) Stonebraker, granddaughter: Halle, and sister: Carol Risner.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Larry Stonebraker, and sister: Janet Kupec.

Per Doug’s wishes cremation will take place.

Doug will be buried in the San Pierre Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for Doug will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Food Pantry.
