Dyrl Whitaker

Mr. Dyrl Whitaker, 83, of Wheatfield, passed away at 10:45 PM, Sunday, December 9th, 2007 at Beverly Care Center, Valparaiso, IN.

Dyrl was born in Newland, IN on May 22, 1924, the son of the late Morgan and Mary (nee: Salyer) Whitaker.

Dyrl was part of the American Theater and was a tank driver for Company C. 652nd Tank Battalion of the United States Army.

He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the American Legion Post 406.

Dyrl is survived by

two daughters:  Kimberly C & Aven Burgess and Robin L & Paul Renn

two sons:  Gary Lee Whitaker, Craig E & Terri Whitaker

Dyrl is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Preceded by his wife Joan, parents, brothers: Harry, Carl, and Charles, sisters: Julie, Martha, Ocie, and Minnie

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St. Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Dryl will be conducted on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 10:30 AM, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, In., with interment at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
