Elaine Elvira Hansen

78 year old, Elaine Elvira Hansen, of DeMotte, passed away June 4, 2016.

On November 8, 1937, Elaine was born to Knud and Blanche (Cesal) Hansen in Tefft, Indiana. Elaine attended Tefft Schools, she graduated with honors from Wright Junior College, Chicago, Illinois, and she attended University of Illinois in Chicago. She was an office manager at the University of Illinois. Elaine was a member of the DeMotte United Methodist Church where she was a Preschool Sunday school teacher, Liturgist, President of Methodist Women’s Group, Chairperson of Missions Committee. She enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world. She loved her family most of all, music especially classical, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, eating out, helping others and her pets: Katrina, Fifi, and Pixie.

Elaine is survived by her loving family: daughter: Carla (Edward) Luzadder, grandchildren: Jennifer Chandler, Jessica Jones, Christopher Luzadder, Justin (Cassandra) Allen, great-grandchildren: Dustyn Jones, Felicia Chandler, Brandon Jones, Brianna Chandler, Carlee Byrom, Kaitlyn Chandler, Angelina Allen, Elaina Allen, Jayce Jones, Amaya Allen, Justin Allen Jr., Emerson Luzadder, great-great-grandchildren: Sophia Kovach & Aaliyah Chandler, niece: Lynn (Randy) Wischover, nephew: Nils (Peggy) Hansen Jr.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, son: Ricky Allen, granddaughter: Danielle Allen, brother and sister-in-law: Nils Sr. & Pat Hansen.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Elaine will take place at the funeral home on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Ramsey. Interment will follow at the Cemetery of the Resurrection in DeMotte, Indiana.
