Eldon Lowell Jarvis

76 year old, Eldon Lowell Jarvis, of Monticello, passed away on October 6, 2025.

On May 16, 1949, Lowell was born to Ralph and Virginia (Edison) Jarvis in Olive Hill, Kentucky, and was the youngest of 19 children. He spent 18 years working for White County REMC, before opening Jarvis Tree and Stump, and he also owned the Carhartt and Red Wing shoe store in Norway, Indiana. Lowell loved nature, and would spend hours sitting in his truck watching deer and turkeys. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

Lowell is survived by his children: Tim and Angela, siblings: Clarice Thomas, Olive Lunsford, Pauline Colley, Althea Hutchinson, Harlan Jarvis, Phillip Jarvis, Barbara Jarell, Rockie Jarvis, Clyde Jarvis, and his best friend: Shorty Johns.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Tom Jarvis, Paul Jarvis, Harold Jarvis, Leroy Jarvis, Jack Jarvis, Stanley Jarvis, Patricia Johnson, Lanie Littleton, and Joyce Fultz.

Per Lowell’s wishes cremation will take place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
