Emily Mae Hopkins

74 year old, Emily Mae Hopkins of Rensselaer passed away December 29, 2017.

On June 13, 1943, in West Virginia Emily was born to John and Mintie (Wallen) Harris. Emily married Silas Hopkins on August 8, 1959 in Jasper County. She worked for a time as a C.N.A. at the Rensselaer Care Center. She attended United Baptist Church of Gillam Township.

Emily is survived by her husband: Silas, children: Wade Hopkins, Joe (Ethel) Hopkins, and Bobby (Stephanie) Hopkins, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and sister: Eliza Hopkins.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings: brothers: John, Bobby, Joe, sisters: Jean and Janette.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township. Services for Emily will take place at the church at 12:00 p.m. (CST) with Pastor John Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Independence Cemetery, Medaryville, Indiana.
