Esther Richards

90 year old, Esther Richards of Rensselaer, passed away December 30, 2014 at her home.

On March 30, 1924, Esther was born in DeMotte, Indiana to Joseph and Martha (Volkmann) Ruisard. Esther graduated from DeMotte High School. She loved working at Wal-Mart in the ladies department, and did so until she was 85 years old. Esther loved watching birds during the day, and the stars at night. She had a flower garden with iris and yellow roses that she loved to care for. Esther loving being outdoors; she was a member of the Virgie Christian Church and wrote and edited the Church newsletter. Esther was a member of the DeMotte Historical Society.

Esther is survived by her children: Pauline Boring, Philip Richards, Andy (Sandy) Richards, and Marcia (Chip) Murray, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and brother Herbert (Mae) Ruisard.

Esther was preceded in death by: her parents, 3 siblings: 2 sisters: Florence & Frances, and 1 brother: Joseph.

Friends are invited to visit to a Memorial Service on January 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Virgie Christian Church, Virgie, Indiana, with Chip Murray officiating.
