Fondalee Spurgeon

93 year old Fondalee Spurgeon of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Wheatfield, passed away July 6, 2026, at home with her loving family around her.

On October 20, 1932, Fondalee was born to Charles and Creta (Hibbs) Miller, in Tefft, Indiana. She graduated from Tefft High School, class of 1951. Fondalee worked at the Little Company of Mary Nursing Home first in the activities department, then in the records department. She was an active member at the Wheatfield Church of Christ. Fondalee loved gardening, Judo, bowling, puzzles, and reading.

Fondalee is survived by her son: Gary Spurgeon, grandchildren: Natasha (Andy) Britt, Jillian Spurgeon, and Candice Spurgeon and niece: Jennifer Taylor.

Fondalee was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Maurice Spurgeon, brothers: Marvin Miller, William Miller, Robert Miller, sisters: Bonita Williams, Dora ‘Nadeene’ Taylor, and daughter-in-law: Karen Spurgeon.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield. Interment for Fondalee will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
