Gertrude Vliek

86 year old, Gertrude Vliek of DeMotte, passed away January 14, 2015 at Aperion Care of DeMotte.

On April 14, 1928, in Michigan, Gertrude was born to Harold and Dorothy (Doxtater) Drake. She graduated from Hammond High School. Gertrude married George Vliek on December 29, 1946, in Michigan.  George and Gertrude owned the Griffith Family Market.

Gertrude is survived by her children:  Dan (Susie) Vliek, Deborah Musenbrock, Scott (Sally) Vliek, Mark Vliek, Michele (Jon) Haughee, 15 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren, and brothers: Charles & Harold and sister: Ruth Everett.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband: George and parents: Harold & Dorothy.

Per Gertrude’s wishes cremation has taken place.
