Grover Messer

79 year old, Grover Messer of Wheatfield, passed away July 10, 2017 at his home with his loving family around him.

On June 20, 1938, Grover was born to Kellie and Bertha (Shepherd) Messer in Elmrock, Knott County, Kentucky. Grover worked as a Union Construction Laborer Local #81, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Grover married the love of his life Julie Conley (who preceded him) on May 3, 1960.

Grover is survived by his children: Jeanna Messer, Doug (Michelle) Messer, Stephanie (Bobby) Hopkins, Matthew (Dee) Messer, Darrin (Brenda) Messer, Phillip (Anita) Messer, 14 grandchildren, and 17 (+1 on the way) great-grandchildren, 2 brothers: Paul Messer and Haulie Messer.

Grover was preceded in death by: loving wife: Julie, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Grover will take place at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 with Pastor Billy Fields officiating. Internment will follow at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
