Grover 'Tom' Nabors

69 year old, Grover ‘Tom’ Nabors, of Medaryville, passed away January 21, 2022 at his home with his loving family around him.


On October 26, 1952, Tom was born in Rensselaer, Indiana, to Edgle Nabors and Virginia (Powers) Nabors-Delgado. He was a lifetime area resident, and graduated from West Central High School. He worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, for a while, and then was a welder/fitter for Talbert Manufacturing. He married Loretta Closson on August 9, 2014, in Francesville, Indiana at the Amazing Grace Fellowship Church. He enjoyed woodworking making shelves for Loretta’s angels.


Tom is survived by his family, wife: Loretta, children: Tami (Bill) Sutton, Trent (Sarah) Nabors, Kasey (Andrew) Close, Koryn Zickmund, Katie (Keith) Funk, John (Amillie) Zickmund, 14 grandchilden, 4 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Jim (Connie) Nabors, Gina (Steve) DeMoss, Pam (Jim) DeMoss, and Sean Nabors, and step-father: Max Delgado, step-siblings: Estella Cantu, Rita Delgado, Yolanda Polanco-Cuevas, Mary Jane Zamora, Macario Delgado Jr., Rosa Hendryx, Sally Smidler, Vincent Delgado, Jimmy Delgado, Della Albrecht.


Tom was preceded in death by his parents.


Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Francesville, Indiana.

Services for Tom will take place at the church at 12:00 p.m. (noon) with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. Interment will follow at the Independence Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for the Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, of Francesville.
