Helen S Messer

80 year old, Helen S. Messer, of San Pierre, passed away May 9, 2023, with her loving family around her.

On August 31, 1942, Helen was born in Elmrock, Kentucky, to Raymond and Equilla (Clemons) Messer. Helen married the love of her life, Wilmer Messer Sr., on October 29, 1960. She enjoyed bowling, square dancing, crocheting, sewing and hand bell choir. She liked to bake cakes and decorate wedding cakes. She enjoyed gardening and canning her rewards. She enjoyed family and friends.

Helen is survived by her children: Annette (Joe) Short, Trish (Jerry) Patterson, and daughter-in-law: Michelle, 12 grandchildren, 23 + great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, and siblings: Prudy Dobson, Patsy Clark, Kinnie (Judy) Messer, Paula (Dave) Abbring.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband: Wilmer Sr., parents, son: Wilmer Jr., siblings: Pearlie Mae Conley, and Moses Messer.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Services for Helen will take place at 11:00 a.m. (CST) at the church with Pastor Thurman Ritchie, officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
