Herschel Richie

56 year old, Herschel Richie, of Rensselaer, passed away August 11, 2023 at his home.

On September 23, 1966, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Herschel was born to Canada and Anna Faye (Wireman) Richie. Herschel graduated from Kankakee Valley High School, class of 1985. Herschel was an avid F.F.A. member. He also graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer with a Political Science degree. He worked as a Clerk for past Senator Coats in Washington, DC. He worked at Georgia Pacific, The Country Store, and at Dollar General. Herschel enjoyed people.

Herschel is survived by his brother: Amos (Debra) Richie, nephews: Nathan (Shanan) Richie, Luke Richie, and niece: Brooklyn Richie, and a raft of extended family and friends.

Herschel was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Herschel will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
