Irene Weltzin

86 year old, Irene Weltzin of Rensselaer, passed away August 14, 2016.

On December 28, 1929 in Prestonburg, Kentucky, Irene was born to Thomas & Rosa (Stephens) Prater. Irene worked in management. She was a member of the American Legion Post #29 and the Moose Lodge of Rensselaer.

Irene is survived by her loving family, children: Mike (Theresa – ‘TK’) DeBoard, DeWayne DeBoard, Debi Jo (Dwight) Hayes, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Jean (Bob) Rude, Rose Osborn.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons: Richard Lee Hopkins, & Donald Prater, 1 sister: Maxine Helton, 2 brothers: Oliver Prater & Raliegh Prater.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Irene will take place at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Ernie Randolph officiating. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana.
