James A “Tony” DeVos, formerly of Wheatfield, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021.

He was born April 15, 1961, in Blue Island, Illinois to James A and Sandra (Burns) DeVoss. Tony was a retired police officer having worked at the Valparaiso and Jasper County Sheriff’s Department from 2002-2014. He was a member of Sorrowful Mother’s Catholic Church, Porter Masonic Lodge, and F.O.P. He was the owner of Access Lock & Key, and worked at Porter County Government.

He is survived by his wife: Jamie, his mother: Sande Burns, his sister: Jackie, children, and grand-children, lots of friends, and relatives.

Tony was preceded in death by his father: James DeVos Sr., and step-father: Jack Knowles.

A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the VFW Post #988 at 705 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, Indiana.
