James 'Rocky" Dickerson

61 year old, James ‘Rocky’ Dickerson of Wheatfield passed away September 17, 2017.

On September 9, 1956 in Gary, Indiana, Rocky was born to Charles and Nettie (Murray) Dickerson. He graduated from Edison High school and worked for Turnipseed Masonry as a bricklayer-laborer for the Union #81. Rocky married the love of his life Terrie Randolph on May 7, 1983 in Merrillville, Indiana. Rocky loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and especially his family and friends. After Rocky retired from the Union, he worked for Kankakee Valley School Corporation as a janitor.

Rocky is survived by his wife: Terrie, daughters: Carri (Ryan) Sambrooks, Cassy (Andrew) Huber, son: Jeremy (Dena) Meeks, mother: Nettie Dickerson, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister: Scharley (Robert) Price, and sister-in-law: Robin Dickerson.

Rockey was preceded in death by his father: Charles and brother: Ronald.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Rocky will take place at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: the family or KVHS’ Mr Inman’s classes.
