Jeannette Loveland

March 1, 1943 — December 17, 2006

Jeannette Loveland

Jeannette Loveland, 63, of the DeMotte/Wheatfield area entered the gates of heaven from complications of multiple health concerns on Sunday, December 17, 2006.

Her parents, Howard and Bernadine (Ashabranner) Payne welcomed her arrival on March 1, 1943 at the Jasper County Hospital.  She grew up south of Remington just inside Benton County.  Jeannette attended Wadena Union Township and Gilboa Schools.  After graduating from Remington High School in 1961, she graduated from Lincoln Christian Bible College in Lincoln, IL in 1965.  She also graduated from the Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO.  While living in Terre Haute after nursing school, a friend introduced her to Peter Loveland.  They were later married on April 1, 1970.  She was a nurse at St. Anthony Medical Center for over 25 years before her retirement.  Jeannette was a member of the Bethany Chapel Christian Church in Fowler.  Jeannette enjoyed quilting, gardening and basket weaving.  She belonged to the Country Cut Ups Quilt Club and the KV Garden Club.

The twinkle of her eye was her granddaughter, Mandolyn.  One of Jeannette’s greatest achievements was hearing Mandolyn say “Gramma” for the first time a few days before she passed.

To know Jeannette was to love her.  She always had a smile on her face and a sense of humor.  Jeannette made friends easily and was kind to everyone she knew.

She will always be remembered by her husband of 36 years, Peter Loveland; her son John, daughter-in-law Molly and granddaughter Mandolyn, Wheatfield; her mother Bernadine Payne, Remington; brother Larry Payne and sister-in-law Lorena, Remington; father-in-law C.W. Loveland, Highlands, NC; sister-in-law Pam Nims and brother-in-law Mike, Highlands, NC; aunt Betty Ashabranner, Crawfordsville; aunt Phyllis Wheeling, Remington; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeannette will be again meeting her father, Howard, upon entering eternity.

The family looks forward to seeing friends and family at the Brushwood United Methodist Church, located on US HWY 231 North of Rensselaer, on Thursday, December 21, from 3 PM CST to 5 PM CST with a Celebration of Life Service following at 5 PM CST, Pastor Tom Ream officiating.

Friends may forward their gifts to the Country Cut Ups Quilt Club or the KV Garden Club.

Boersma Funeral Home of Wheatfield is handling the arrangements.
