John Calhoon

78 year old, John E. Calhoon, of Hebron, passed away September 17, 2026.

On July 8, 1948, John was born to Robert and Ida (Van Dusen) Calhoon, in Wheatfield, Indiana. He married the love of his life, Linda Shepard, on May 29, 1979, who precedes him. John worked as a supervisor for LTV Steel Mill. He was a fisherman, who was happiest with a rod in his hand and a tug on the line.

John is survived by his children: Helen (Mark) Houtchen, John Calhoon, Cheryl Elder, EJ (Margie) Calhoon, William ‘Bill’ Calhoon, several grandchildren, and siblings: Robert Calhoon, Joan Hutchins, Jim Calhoon, Judy Crawford, Kenneth Calhoon, and Kathy Gallo.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and brother: Don.

Per John’s wishes cremation will take place.

John will be laid to rest at the Hebron Cemetery in a private graveside service at a later date.
