John E. Garling

70 year old, John E. Garling of Wheatfield, passed away June 24, 2013.

On October 28, 1942, John was born to Dale and Mary (nee: Tilton) Garling in Valparaiso, Indiana. John was a lifetime area resident and worked for the Local 150 Operating Engineers. John was a U.S. Army Veteran and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 406.

John is survived by his 2 sons: Rick (Sandra) Garling and Russell Garling, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters: Janice Fay (Mack) Stansberry and Judy Kay Pate.

John was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson: Chans, sister Carma Jean McMahan, and brother Robert Garling.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for John will take place with Military Honors on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Per John’s wishes cremation will follow and interment will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 406.
