John P. Kostelyk Sr

78 year old, John P Kostelyk Sr. of DeMotte, passed away August 16, 2018 at his home.

On June 14, 1940, in East Chicago, Indiana, John was born to John C. and Florence (Wilkins) Kostelyk. John married Emily Pauling (who preceded him). John was a truck driver for the Teamster’s Local #705 for 30+ years. John later married Janice (Clausen) Muehlman, on May 31, 2008, in Hammond, Indiana. John attended Community Christian Reformed Church in Roselawn, Indiana.

John is survived by his wife: Janice, children: Rev. John (Arla) Kostelyk Jr., Charles ‘Chuck’ (Katie) Kostelyk, foster daughter: Cheryl Van Alstine, step-children: Cheryl Muehlman, Carl Muehlman, Craig (Nancy) Muehlman, Chris (Candi) Muehlman, grandchildren: Phillip, James (Paige), Angela, Joel (Lindsey), Katelynn, Kevin, Chris, Emma, step-grandchildren: Ben, Ashley, Brandon, Nick, & Brian, and step-great-granddaughter: Farrah.

John was preceded in death by his first wife: Emily, daughter: Cindy Kostelyk, and step-granddaughter: Jennifer Muehlman.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, August 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Community Christian Reformed Church, Roselawn, Indiana.

Graveside services will follow at a later date at the Holland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the food pantry at Community Christian Reformed Church.
