John W Wood

85 year old, John W. Wood of Wheatfield passed away June 26, 2013.

On March 4, 1928, in Danville, Illinois John was born to John S. and Helen A. (nee: Mansfield) Wood. John served in the US Navy. He married Doris Crickard on September 23, 1967. John was a truck driver for the Teamster local 710. He was a member of the American Legion Post 406 in Wheatfield and the Moose in Rensselaer.

John is survived by his wife: Doris, sister: Catheryn Delva, and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Eugene ‘Gene’ Wood.

Per John’s wishes cremation will take place and a memorial service will take place at the Jasper County Baptist Church at a later date.
