Joyce Oezer

82 year old, Joyce A. Oezer, of DeMotte, passed away April 29, 2026, with her loving family around her.

On May 16, 1943, Joyce was born to Christian and Johanna (Van Klay) Terborg, in Rensselaer, Indiana. She married the love of her life, Jerald R. Oezer, on November 24, 1961, in DeMotte, Indiana. Joyce worked as a preschool teacher at the Community Christian Reform Preschool, and dedicated her life to the Lord and to teaching His children. She was a member of the Community Christian Reform Church, where she played the piano and organ for many years, and was a Coffee Break co-leader for the woman’s retreats. Joyce loved to read. Through all of Joyce’s medical trials, she put her trust in Jesus.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband: Jerald, son: Scott (Darla) Oezer, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers: David (Carol) Terborg, Jerry (Rosie) Terborg, and sisters-in-law: Sue Terborg, Donna (Terry) Terborg-Hershman, and step-mother: Frances Terborg.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Kathy Reitsma, and brothers: Phillip Terborg, John Terborg.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 until 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Community Christian Reform Church, 10498 North 450 East, DeMotte, Indiana. Services for Joyce will be at 12:00 p.m., at the church. A private interment will be held at the Holland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Community Christian Reform Church Benevolence Fund.
