Judith E. Patton-Mehay

79 year old, Judith E. ‘Judy’ Patton-Mehay, of Remington, passed away August 16, 2026, at home with her loving family.

On November 13, 1946, Judy was born to Rubin and Virginia (Bailey) Patton, in Rensselaer, Indiana. She spent her life taking care of her family, and was happiest getting to love on and spend time with her grandbabies. Judy was a member of the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township, where she would make a joyful noise, always singing and praising, with her favorite song being Consider the Lilies. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and decorating. Judy was always ready and willing to help anyone in need, whether it was a homecooked meal, or a place to sleep. She loved the Lord, and she loved anyone she met.

Judy is survived by her children: Anthony Carty, Tonya Carty, Aaronda (Brian) Burgess, Kelly Carty, Bradley Carty, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Norman (Betty) Patton, Joyce Hansen, and Melvine (Mark) Glover.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, grandson: Colton Carty, granddaughter: Nicole Forsythe, sisters: Sara Hogan, Nancy Ward, Carol Anderson, Charlene Patton, Linda McCarty, and brothers: Larry Patton, and James Arnett.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield. Funeral Services for Judy will be held at 11:00 a.m. (EST) on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township, 400 N 250 E, Rensselaer, Bailey’s Corner, with Pastor James Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at the Independence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township.
