Lester Meeks

81 year old, Lester Meeks, of San Pierre, passed away June 22, 2007 at his home.

Lester Meeks was born on November 12, 1925 to Noah and Mabel (nee: Stowers) Meeks. On June 10, 1949, Lester married Shirley Tribbett in Crown Point, Indiana. Lester served in the U.S. Army. Lester worked as a farmer and worked at McGill Manufacturing Company for 20 years. He retired in 1986.

Survivors include his loving wife: Shirley, his loving children: Deborah & Mort Harrington III, Charles & Diane Meeks, Thomas & Sheila Meeks, Richard & Sherrylynn Meeks, Michael & Jeanette Meeks, and Edward & Barb Meeks, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters: Mary Kussmaul, Norma Morrison, and Thelma Chestovich, 1 brother: Wayne Meeks.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services will be held at 7:00 pm at the Boersma Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Per Lester’s wishes he will be cremated and interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
