Linda McCarty

74 year old, Linda McCarty, of Medaryville, passed away on March 19, 2026, at home with her loving family around her.

On July 11, 1951, Linda was born to Rubin and Virginia (Bailey) Patton, in Rensselaer, Indiana. She worked as a bus driver. Linda was a member of the Goodway Baptist Church. She loved to sing, garden, go to yard sales, and most of all she loved her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her daughter: Billie Jo McCarty, grandchildren: Joshua Shepherd, Amber Shepherd, Trevor Shepherd, Donnie Salyer, Jakobie Griffo, Eric Griffo William McCarty, Matthew McCarty, Carley McCarty, Elizabeth Wyant, 8 great-grandchildren with another on the way, and siblings: Melvie (Mark) Grover, Joyce Hansen, Judy (Bill) Mehay, and Norman (Betty) Patton.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Bill McCarty, sons: Jack McCarty, William ‘Hoppy’ McCarty, daughter: Melissa ‘Missy’ McIlvain, grandchildren: Crystal McIlvain, Curtis McCarty, and siblings: Nancy Ward, Charlene Patton, James D. Arnett, Carol Anderson, Sarah Hogan, and Larry Patton.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. (EST) on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Funeral Services for Linda will be at 11:00 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Goodway Baptist Church, 14065 W 400 N, Medaryville, Indiana. Interment to follow at the Independence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Goodway Baptist Church.
