Loella DeBoard

84 year old, Loella DeBoard, of Wheatfield, passed away June 21, 2023.

Loella was born on October 10, 1938 in Rensselaer, Indiana to Kelly and Arlie (Caskey) Conley. She was a loving wife and mother who spent many wonderful years married to her husband, Bufford DeBoard. She was awarded the Albert Einstein Award when she earned her GED, and was an avid writer of short stories. She also would write songs, and performed in a gospel group that would tour nursing homes to spread love and beautiful music. Loella loved to garden, and above all she loved her family very much. Loella volunteered her time with her church, and was a loyal servant to the Lord for 68 years.

Loella is survived by her children: Gwendolyn S. Wylie-DeBoard, Melanie G. (John) Krygowski, 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Naomi DeMoss and Stella Brownell.

Loella is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Bufford DeBoard, children: Anthony C. DeBoard, Lisa J. Alcantar, Christopher V. DeBoard, grandchildren: Tiffany Jean DeBoard, Jeffery DeBoard, and siblings: Mary Jane Wynn, Nadine Geren, Julie Messer, and Claude Conley.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Goodway Baptist Church, 14065 W 400 N, Medaryville, Indiana 47957. Services for Loella will take place at the Goodway Baptist Church on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. James Rowe and Rev. Mac Howard officiating. Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 following the funeral at the Goodway Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
