Lu Hedglen

89 year old Ludmila “Lu” (nee: Slavvkovsky) Urshel-Willsher-Hedglen of Wheatfield passed away February 9, 2013 at the Rensselaer Care Center.

Lu was born on February 8, 1924 in Poprad, Czechoslovakia to the late Martin and Mary (nee: Ilavsky) Slavvkovsky.

Lu worked at the United States Department of Treasury. Lu enjoyed reading, dancing, Italian food, good old silver screen movies, but the most enjoyment she had was finding her brother John Sand after they had been separated for over thirty-five years.

Lu is survived by her loving family friends Steven and Jackie Landis, their children Stephanie and Christopher Landis. Lu had two nieces Pennie Ann Gant, Michelle (Andrew) Juarez and many great nieces and nephews.

Lu was preceded in death by her parents, sister Martha Donnelly, brother John Sands.

Per Lu’s request she will be cremated and services will be at a later time.
