85 year old, Martha Gravesen, of Rensselaer passed away November 27, 2020 at her home with her loving family around her.
On March 9, 1935, Martha was born to William and Ida (Shepherd) Shepherd in Vest, Kentucky. Martha liked to read, write, spend time with the grandkids, write poetry, stories for the newspapers. She was a Charter member of the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
Martha is survived by her children: William (Marsha) Campbell II, Misty (David) Longstreth, 3 grandchildren: Megan Geren, Billy Campbell, Paige Longstreth, and 4 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Emily, Calvin, Axel, siblings: Dorothy Dobson, Grace (Vern) Hilton, Shirley (John) Godby, Bruce (Carolyn) Shepherd, and Kitty (Tom) Mahaffey.
Martha was preceded in death by her first husband: William ‘Bill’ Campbell 1st, and second husband: John Gravesen, parents: William and Ida, brothers: Albert Shepherd, Ron Shepherd, brothers-in-law: Wilson ‘Buddy’ Dobson, John Meyers, DeVon Jones, & Barter Dobson.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Martha will take place at the funeral home at noon, with Pastor Thurman Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
