91 years, 8 months, 3 days, Martin J. Hoffman, of Hebron, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family around him.
On March 27, 1932, in DeMotte on the family farm, Martin was born to Martin and Sena (Walstra) Hoffman. He graduated from DeMotte Schools in 1950. Martin married the love of his life, Edna DeFries, on August 30, 1951, at the DeMotte United Methodist Church, in DeMotte, Indiana. Martin was a self-employed farmer, who was a deacon at his church, a Tri-creek School Board Member, and a member of National Farmer’s Organization.
Martin is survived by his loving family, wife: Edna, children: Ronald (Becky) Hoffman, Joann (Steve) Jensen, Janet (Lyle) Trembly, David (Janet) Hoffman, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, siblings: Wilma (Richard) Blood, Carolyn Stembel, and Rita Toppen.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Jeremy Hoffman, siblings: Bill Hoffman, Paul Hoffman, Lois DeVries, and daughter-in-law: Christy Hoffman, and Allen Stembel, Junior Toppen.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 333 Mill Steet, Lowell, Indiana. Services for Martin will take place at the church on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Common Man’s Reference Bible.
