Mary Scott

81 year old, Mary Scott, of Wheatfield, passed away suddenly on May 3, 2022 at Porter Regional Hospital.

On November 26, 1940, in Gary, Indiana, Mary was born to William Tell and Jennadean A. (Kreischer) Basiger. Mary married the love of her life, Charles Gerald Scott, on February 23, 1957, in Gary, Indiana. Mary waitressed for many years. She was a member of the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God.

Mary is survived by her loving family, husband: Charles Sr., children: Charles (Brenda) Scott Jr., James (Nancy) Scott, Sharon (Joe) Gilbert, Dawn (Dean) Stalbaum, Christena (Gary) Oestreich, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Rebecca (Cook) Rice, Cynthia (‘Gale’) Hudson, Bill Basiger.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and brother: Jerry Lee Basiger.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God, services for Mary will take place Friday evening at the church with Pastor Doug Griffith officiating.

Per Mary’s wishes cremation will follow and a private burial will follow at a later date at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Wheatfield Penticostal Church of God Pavilion or St. Jude's Children or Riley's Children's Hospital
