Mary A Spriggs

87 year old, Mary A. Spriggs, of Wheatfield, passed away on April 15, 2025.

On October 23, 1937, Mary was born to Jeff and Fannie (Rowe) Justice, at home in Kniman, Indiana. Mary graduated from Medaryville High School, class of 1956. On July, 15, 1956, She married Haldon Spriggs in Medaryville, Indiana. Mary used to be a part of the Wheatfield American Legion Ladies Auxilary. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and baking. Mary was happiest in life taking care of her husband, her five daughters, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children: Maureen (James) Fortner, Patricia ‘Kathy’ Bounds, Heather (Charles) Jones, Beth (Richard) Winemiller, Chelsea (James) Miller, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Ann (Paul) Walker, Butch (Lucille) Justice, and Patricia Jones.

Mary was preceded by her parents, husband: Haldon Spriggs, grandsons: Nicholas Spriggs-Hall, Ethan Miller, and sister: Pauline Justice.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, IN 46392. Services for Mary will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025 with Pastor Don Gear officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery in Barkley Township, Rensselaer, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
